This site is devoted to tracking the progress and growth of an individual, Mike Kuk, who longs to become a respected innovative animator and artist that focuses on story, character development, and hopefully originality.

Right now I am on my way, but as an artist I am aware that there is always room for growth.

I've decided to rework the index page, in hopes of eventually getting the whole site revamped.

Things are slowly chugging along. I've been a bit side tracked with finding better work and working on the ole skills. I've been workin cellular sales and just left that in hopes of freelancing as a web designer and portriat and caraciture artist. I don't know how well it will go, but I gotta try. Still tweaking the demo and workin' the resume. I haven't gotten any good breaks yet, but I gotta keep chugging along.

4.20.2004

I have left the Chicago Board Of Options to pursue animation and art once again. I have gained a great experience there and if anything in a strange way, it got me back on track.

I will try to get more stuff up on here. As of late I have been working on some digital photography as well as starting up my comics again. Hopefully this time it will stay around consistently.

10.28.2003

I have been sick and missed a day and a half of work. So rather than be completly unproductive, I started working on some ideas for logo designs for Lakeshore. It was mentioned when I just started working, but I had not had a chance to start on it with the adjusting to the new job and all. Well, better late than never...haha.

10.21.2003

I have not been working on stuff since I started working at the Chicago Board Of Trade for Lakeshore Securities L.P. I will get working on my art as much as I can...I hope.

All my animation have come to a temporary halt as well as some projects possibly terminated.

06.24.2003

After The Curse Of Life I will devote the majority of my time on a Halloween animation, and on turning some comics into flash cartoons.

06.18.2003

I have set up a website for The Curse Of Life which I have been working on to submit to my past instructors artshow in Michigan. My past instructor Dave Knoebber will be showcasing alot of his artwork, as well as having a reel for his students. Thanks Dave!

Much of my time has been commited to working on animations. I have been putting the finishing touches to Exit In before I start rendering out the scenes. I am also working on another remake of one of my early animations called The Curse Of Life.

While doing this, I am attempting to complete an animation done while at Columbia with some other animators. The progress is slow, but it will hopefully be worth it in the end. I have been responsible for some 3d parts as well as some background 2d characters. Now I am just waiting to hear from the initial creator of story. While waiting, I have set up a website for the animation. The story was written by another individual, Mike Rodriguez. I was just part of the crew working on it. The animation is titled The Funeral.

Some character models sheets and 3d rendered stills from an animation that I am currently working on called, "Griffen's Field or Farm." I'm still working out the title.

Made a website for Despair Da' Bear. It is far better than the original website.

Warning: Despair Da' Bear is not for all readers. I do not mean to offend by any means.

A few more figure studies... though I said I would stop for a while. These are a series of quick drawings... more for the study of poses instead of a great rendering. I'm trying to take some steps back to get better at proportions. Class is almost over... I must look for more figure studies classes.

05.08.2003

I have added some more images!!! A couple more figure studies, caraciture attempts, and portraits. Probably the last for awhile. I plan on studying up more on Maya and modeling.

04.22.2003

I plan on attempting to make some of my own flash banners just to jazz up the site. It will be a project to play with flash, as well as I can FIGHT TO GAIN ATTENTION AWAY FROM THE BANNERS!, but I am greatful that I got more space at 150m.com still though. Awsome place for the newbie like me.

When on freeserver.com webspace I had to really pick and choose what to put on the ole' site, but now I can toss more stuff up there. Good or bad... hahaha.

04.21.2003

I moved the website to a larger space for more room. From freeservers. com to 150m.com. Both have pop up adds and an obtrusive banner, but 150m.com gives me 100MB of space where freeservers gives me only 12MB. Yeah... a big difference there.

Despair Da' Bear No. 03 completed.

04.12.2003

Updated the site with snazzy new title logo as well as adding 60 plus images into the gallery. Argh... I need to purchase some webspace instead of this 12 MB freeservers stuff.

Despair Da' Bear No. 02 completed.

04.07.2003

I decided on starting some online comic strip projects so that I could improve on my visual storytelling skills, but overall, so I can have something to color.

I have decided on taking a 5 page script that I originally wrote for a computer animation, and turning it into the start of a comic strip series.
